Audible Audio Book To Mp3

Help needed playing mp3 files converted from aa files please?
I have downloaded some audio books from Audible, and they play fine through Windows Media Player as aa files. I want to put them onto my mp3 player (Sony Walkman NW-A1000) so I downloaded FormatFactory (after reading advice from another user’s question) to convert the Audible aa file to mp3. It has converted to mp3, but when I play the file as an mp3, there is no sound. It still opens Windows Media Player, and also transfers onto my mp3 player, but when I press play, it plays with no sound at all for most of the tracks, and for one, there is white noise-type sound.
I’ve tried another programme to convert to mp3, however it says I need iplayer installed, which I don’t have.
Can anyone suggest anything to help me get the files to play as mp3 files?

Burn the Audible aa files to CD which can then be played in cd player.
